Senator Durbin’s Non-Constituent Coffee
In September 2019, Senator Dick Durbin held an infamous “Constituent Coffee” event, a small fraction of the ugliness is documented in the video below. During the “Constituent Coffee” coffee event:
Senator Durbin’s office went out of the way to gin up manufactured opposition to S.386. His office actually reached out to international students across the country and asked them to come to a “constituent coffee” - even though they weren’t his constituents.
Senator Durbin deliberately insulted and picked on his constituents who flew in from Illinois, just because they were from India.
Senator Durbin mocked Indian Immigrants who are waiting decades for their Green Card by accepting a fake green piece of card and saying “I have been waiting for years” and laughing with the crowd as they mocked Indian immigrants deporting their children.
Senator Durbin deliberately orchestrated the Coffee event to pit immigrants of different National origin against each other.
Another way to view the events at the “non-constituent coffee” is, Senator Durbin hates Indian immigrants so much, he thinks Students - who haven't even applied for Green Cards, who might not even qualify for employment based Green Cards, who don’t even have employers to file employment based Green Cards for them -- deserve preferential treatment over Immigrants who have already waited in line for their green cards for decades and are dehumanized to the point of deporting their own children - just because these Immigrants are Indian.
